I’m a student in my fourth year at North Central College majoring in Political Science with a Spanish minor. I have a 3.9 GPA, with consistent placements on the Dean’s List. After my graduation in the spring of 2025, I plan to attend graduate school with hopes of becoming a social justice lawyer or policymaker.In addition to political science and Spanish, I have completed coursework in social sciences, gender studies, and critical race theory. These courses are helping me with my capstone thesis for the North Central Honors Program, which looks at the ways in which education policies can be used to reshape curriculum through the lens of intersectional feminist theory.Along with my academic repertoire, I am the leader of several organizations on campus. My position as Vice President of the National Organization of Women (NOW)’s Campus Action Network (2021-23) allowed me to learn how to organize events, mobilize students, and enhance my dedication to both my community and my activism. One of my most notable achievements here is receiving the 2023 Young Feminist award with NOW, for youth leadership—this continues to inspire me to rally the next generation of voters to stand up for human rights and positive social change. Additionally, I am the President (2021-present) for Green Scene, a sustainability club, and a member of the Spanish fusion club. These roles have gifted me with new experiences, allowed me to expand cultural views, and helped me work with other students to make our campus more environmentally conscious and sustainable.
