  The overall goal of the Youth in Development Project is to help Thai youth develop the skills and attributes that prepare them to be healthy engaged citizens who contribute positively to their communities. Volunteers work in the rural regions of Thailand in partnership with local government offices, schools, and health centers. Volunteers engage in community needs assessment and develop projects around two key goals- cultivating life skills and leadership and promoting healthy lifestyles. Taught grades 1 through 12 at 3 schools weekly targeting the development of essential life skills including problem-solving, interpersonal communication, creativity, decision-making, teamwork, leadership, cultural awareness and diversity, healthy lifestyles, and conversational English. Utilized the Right to Play curriculum to encourage engagement through interactive learning and play-based activities.Organized and facilitated after-school sports club activities with elementary students that promoted healthy lifestyle, exercise, teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and gender equality in sports. Coached students in soccer, futsal, volleyball, and badminton.Co-planned with local school and sub-district administrative staff English and lifeskills day camps
