Within the Center for Children & Technology, I aid in the design and implementation of large and small-scale research projects that examine the role of media as a tool for fostering children’s learning, wellbeing, and family engagement. Responsibilities include instrument development, participant recruitment, child assessments, tech management, shipping coordination, study site management, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and reporting. I also lead our staff meetings.

I oversaw the Lab’s research portfolio and facilitated the design and implementation of research studies pertaining to healthy media use and child-centered design by coordinating IRB applications, study procedures, reliance agreements, participant recruitment, data collection, analysis, and reporting, and other elements of the research process. I also assisted in grant writing, onboarding new members of the research team, supervising work-study students and graduate research interns, serving as the liaison for the Lab's Research Committee, and co-directing the Lab’s Student Advisory Council.

I assisted in the design and implementation of research studies relating to the impact of media use on children and adolescents' physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development. Responsibilities included the coordination of IRB applications, study procedures, and participant recruitment, data collection, analysis, and reporting, and other elements of the research process.

I served as liaison between faculty/staff and student body/alumni community. I created and distributed weekly department bulletins and monthly newsletters. I promoted events through the department website, maintained a student/alumni blog, and shared research projects, grant opportunities, and more with the student body.

I conducted ethnographic observations of the KIBO Robotics curriculum implemented in kindergarten classrooms of interfaith schools throughout Boston; data collection; teacher interviews and student assessments. I also collaborated on and tested major revisions to KIBO Robotics and ScratchJr curricula for grades K-2.

I aided in maintaining facility standards, tracking and updating office layouts, performing space audits, troubleshooting employee issues, and serving as a liaison between vendors and our buildings. I also assisted with budget planning, created all in-house graphics and signage for our cafe program, and oversaw the transportation program for the Boston region.

I oversaw, created the weekly schedule for, and handled the hiring of host staff. Office management tasks included ordering office supplies, paying/tracking bills, compiling a monthly financial package for our accountant, handling all client needs (catering, product purchases, and other specific requests) and research preparation.

Conducted intakes with potential clients, drafted and filed court documents, maintained case files, communicated with clients and opposing counsel. Aided in depositions and mock trials. Performed numerous administrative tasks, and ensured office was regularly stocked with supplies. Paid bills and maintained financial records in Quickbooks.

Served as intermediary between clients and attorney. Performed paralegal tasks, including estate planning (drafting and editing documents, funding trusts, running client signings in the attorney’s absence), MassHealth applications (initial drafting of application, reviewing documents and verifications provided by clients, communicating directly with case workers), probates (opening and closing estates, courthouse filing), letter writing, billing, and filing.

Provided guests with food, drink, and witty banter.

Upheld standards of cleanliness, table settings, and food presentation in both front and back of house. Developed training program for new backwaiters and ideas to improve efficiency and morale.

Worked with assistant director on program/curriculum development, budget, marketing research. Oversaw administrative aspects of student programs, including student forms, accident reports, and communication with parents.

As manager (starting in 2011), oversaw information desk employees, handled the creation of and problems with scheduling and payroll, worked closely with the Campus Center Coordinator. Additionally, maintained order and cleanliness in the Balfour Hood Center, and provided information and directions to students, staff, and visitors.

Assisted students in developing technical and aesthetic writing skills. Attended numerous seminars, in order to further develop tutoring skills and better connect with tutees.

Instructed a lab of ten students on how to write persuasive, informative speeches. Provided effective methods for finding and employing quality research and rhetorical techniques. Worked with students to develop their public speaking skills.

Assisted customers, replenished clothing stock, maintained an orderly environment, answered phones, worked cash register.

Assisted in scheduling and promoting events with the event coordinator. Referred customer questions and calls to appropriate staff members. Organized the recieving and returning of shipping orders to/from publishing houses.
