Libby Leonard is an independent journalist with work in New York Times, the Guardian, National Geographic, SF Gate, Yes Magazine, EcoWatch, Civil Eats, Modern Farmer, and forthcoming from others. She's a recipient of grants from National Geographic, Author's Guild, Pen America, Fund for Investigative Journalism, and Institute for Journalism and Natural Resources. She is also a passionate community and environmental advocate, specifically for social justice, freshwater conservation, local agriculture, and cultural preservation. For most of her life, she has also been a storyteller, with a background in scriptwriting for plays, screenplays, interactive storytelling, fiction, as well as essays.
