I studied Spanish and Portuguese at Leeds University and spent a year as an English teaching assistant at Instituto Joanot Martorell in Barcelona. After graduating, I worked as a writer and editor on the Spanish magazines at Mary Glasgow Magazines. I have been a freelance writer since the mid-1980s and I have co-authored Spanish courses, workbooks and digital materials with Ana Kolkowska. These include the popular Listos series for Heinemann Education and GCSE, AS and A2 Spanish for Nelson Thornes. I also work with ELT writer and teacher trainer Chris Barker. We have co-written Mega and Dynamic, two courses for middle school in Italy published by Mondadori Education in Milan, and Global English (Stages 7 & 8), an ESOL course published by Cambridge University Press.I am a CELTA-qualified teacher with experience of teaching English to teenagers and young adults in Cambridge. I also tutor students for GCSE, IGCSE and A Level Spanish.Specialty: writing materials that are appealing and interesting to learners.
