I’m a passionate advocate for evidence-based programs to help people recover from injury or illness because I’ve seen how monumental the impact on an individual can be. While physical recovery is often the focus in rehab, less attention is paid to the psychological and emotional effects that prevent people from returning to work.I’ve spent my career working to understand what causes that mental block. I used my psychological training to develop LeapForward, a six-week app-based program designed to get people’s lives back on track by changing how support is delivered.LeapForward is the product of innovation and research that began when I launched Workplace Rehabilitation Management (WRM) in 2001. WRM brought together a team of specialists to allow us to deliver one-on-one, in-person guidance to people as they return to work. People with a claim following an injury or an illness aren’t always offered a positive, holistic approach to rehabilitation. LeapForward is designed to change that by harnessing the powers of psycho-education, technology and coaching so that anyone, no matter where they live or work, can access the tools they need to get off claim faster. I’m blown away by the feedback we receive from LeapForward participants.
