Over the past several months, I have taken the opportunity to decompress from a direct care position in a major hospital that I held throughout the pandemic. I have used this time to re-center and identify how I can better use my experience and talents in the workforce moving forward. I also had the wonderful opportunity to work for 6 weeks on a traditional wooden schooner. This was a completely new experience for me, and one that helped reinforce the benefits of trying something outside my comfort zone, pushing myself physically and mentally, and reconnecting to the importance of humility in all I do. I am now excited to get back into the social work field feeling more grounded and engaged.
