Assisted senior remediation scientists and project managers to undertake environmental monitoring and remediation activities on contaminated land. Environmental Liaison Officer (relieving for Senior Officer) (July 2012 - October 2012)Responsible for providing advice to consultants on the delivery of environmental management services across a multibillion dollar state flood recovery program. Being a large-scale, federally and state funded program, the role required a high level of attention to detail in order to achieve state-wide consistency in the delivery of environmental services. The role required excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate with a range of external consultants and to report regularly to senior management. A high level of autonomy and self-direction as well as strong time management skills were essential. Environmental Officer (relieving in higher duties) (Oct 2011 to July 2012)Responsible for undertaking field investigations and data collection for the preparation of environmental assessment reports for both greenfield and brownfield sites. Areas of investigation included; soils, erosion and sediment control, water quality, flora, fauna and environmental legislation. Actively engaged with engineering project teams as the environmental lead and provided environmental advice on multimillion dollar road infrastructure projects. Project managed a $400,000 environmental preservation portfolio associated with fire risk mitigation of road infrastructure.
