About Libby Williamson
I am a freelance writer, facilitator and theatre-maker based in Manchester. I graduated from the University of Manchester in 2020, having received a First Class degree in BA Drama and English Literature. In my final year, I also won the David Mayer Prize for Outstanding Dissertation. While studying, I worked as the Producer for Plaster Cast Theatre company, producing multiple 5-star reviewed shows while directing and writing my own theatrical work. I am also an experienced playwright; my queer sci-fi comedy 'Far Out' was nominated for the Origins Award at VAULT London 2023, and is planned for a tour in summer 2024.with my company L Squared Theatre.I have run creative workshops with The Royal Exchange, George House Trust and Whitworth Locke, ranging from 'confidence and communication' to 'telling your story' to 'writing fantasy fiction'. I work remotely part-time as Coordinator with the Writing Squad for emerging talent in the North, and have also held multiple freelance roles with Manchester City of Literature including Coordinator, Assistant Producer (for the Festival of Libraries 2022) and Volunteer Coordinator. I am enthusiastic, driven and committed in all professional endeavours. Alongside my extensive theatre experience, I have worked in multiple roles as a workshop facilitator, administrator, receptionist, barista and bartender. I am also TEFL-certified.
