Raised $980k from the African Development Bank to write and implement a harmonised regulatory framework for securities-based crowdfunding in the East African Community, in partnership with five regional regulatory authorities (EASRA). The implementation involves the design and execution of a pioneering co-regulation model in which an industry association works hand in hand with the regulator to supervise a fast-moving fintech industry.

Pro bono establishment and leadership of the African Crowdfunding Association, a non-profit organisation that was put in place to self-regulate the nascent crowdfunding industry in Africa.

Advising M&A on the launch of its second fund, a €75mn private equity fund, Opera Green Industry Capital. OGIC invests with a build-up/buyout strategy in Francophone West Africa and Southern Africa, focusing on education, decarbonised industry, organic horticulture and financial services.

The Panel meets regularly to work on a range of issues in capital markets, from updating frameworks to implementing policy recommendations on emerging areas such as financial technology.

The Advisory board is mandated to set the agenda for the AFIS summit and prioritise issues on compliance, Pan-African/regional harmonization of regulations, digital revolution and the evolution of the financial industry landscape.
