I was the antibody sales specialist for the North UK, including all of Wales, Scotland and North England down to Bristol and Cambridge. I managed my own time, organising and attending exhibitions, conferences and smaller laboratory meetings with researchers and commercial customers to increase product awareness, offer technical advice and provide dedicated product or service solutions. I was a live-in residential tutor for University of Manchester Victoria Hall on upper brook street. Here, I was part of a team of 6 tutors (and then 8) who rotated the overnight on-call duty for emergencies. I was also assigned a block of students for which I was a personal tutor to help with any welfare issues or concerns varying from homesickness to bullying. In my final years as a tutor I was appointed as the senior tutor to act as the team leader and mentor for the other tutors. My position in Victoria Hall was 24/7, as not only was I expected to respond to email enquiries from my students, but I also felt an obligation and duty to be a strong role model and supportive figure for everyone in the hall. I organised, coached and played in the halls' netball team, purchasing all equipment and driving the girls to and from matches and training. Each year I organised the implementation of the halls' Residents' Association (social committee) as well as facilitating and standing in on the weekly committee meetings to offer advice and training if needed.

This was a 12-week contract working on Boots PLC-funded projects with my previous PhD supervisors. My main role was using the AFM to image fibrillin microfibrils extracted from skin; a specialist technique I had learnt in my PhD.I also played a key role in the organisation and running of the 'skin ageing and sun safety' stand at the University of Manchester's Science Spectacular annual fair. I designed and prepared posters, quizzes and hands-on activities for a wide range of visitors to the event.
