Communications Coordinator
Current-Co-produce award-winning monthly TV show on City services; show appears on local government public access channel.-Write, design, and coordinate print production of quarterly newsletters, an annual Calendar/Services Guide, and other City publications mailed to upwards of 19,000 Midland households. -Coordinate communications for City's YouTube channel plus Facebook and Twitter pages.-Write and distribute press releases each week to area media.-Oversee City of Midland website content and design standards. -Co-coordinate marketing campaigns for various City Council-driven initiatives, seeking citizen input and involvement through web-interactive forms and surveys, e-mail blasts, print publications, local advertising, and other communications methods to targeted groups in the community. -Write speeches and other communications materials for Midland's mayor and other City leaders.-Coordinate activities involving Midland's sister city of Handa, Japan, including an annual student exchange program and visits from delegations to and from Japan.-Coordinate an annual, 10-week "Government 101" program for Midland citizens.-Coordinated a 15-member committee on a comprehensive application process that led to Midland being named one of the 100 best communities for young people in America for five consecutive years, competing with hundreds of applicants across the nation for the coveted distinction. -Developed City's first-ever visual design system, including training staff on proper use of the City logo, design elements, PowerPoint templates, and more.-Co-designed three websites for City entities: Currie Golf Course, Midland Civic Arena, and Downtown Midland.
