As Research Resources Manager, I built on the skills I developed as a Senior Researcher, and took on an additional set of responsibilities. My main focus was the collection of online and print resources. I coordinated and helped to prepare the department's annual budget, maintained vendor relationships, and was involved in the procurement process at all stages. I had a "hands-on" role with much of the collection, and in January 2018 I oversaw the move of the main London library to new premises. This followed several months of planning and a thorough review of the print collection. Senior Researcher was a research-based role, with additional responsibility for print collection management and the library admin team. As well as legal and business research, I looked after the library admin function, including book acquisitions and managing the collection of looseleafs. I was also the systems administrator for the library management system (SirsiDynix Symphony).

My first post-qualification role, providing an excellent foundation for a career in law libraries. The highlight was the grounding in legal research, taught by Guy Holborn, which served me well in my subsequent jobs. I had hands-on experience working with a vast collection of legal materials, experience of general library tasks, such as cataloguing and answering reader queries. I followed a detailed training programme and became a chartered member of the Library Association (now CILIP) in July 1998.
