Mr. Sele began his public Service career as a Cadet in the Liberian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1977. He was formally employed as a Research Analyst in 1981. In 1983, he was transferred to the Bureau of Afro/Asian Affairs as Senior Analyst. In 1987, after a distinguished performance as Senior Analyst, he joined the Liberian Foreign Service as Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Liberia to the United Nations in New York, where he rose through the ranks up to Minister Counselor. At the UN, Mr. Sele covered the Second Committee, which deals with economic and development issues. He also coordinated and sought Liberia’s interest in various UN agencies, including the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and UNICEF. Also the Non-Aligned Movement, African Union and Group of 77 and China were under his purview.Since 1992, Mr. Sele was Liberia’s Senior Diplomat responsible for drafting and negotiating with Member States of the UN various General Assembly resolutions concerning the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Liberia. He also covered the First Committee, which deals with the questions of International Peace and Security, including nuclear disarmament and proliferation, as well as conventional weapons. He was a Senior Advisor and Official Member of all Liberian delegations to the United Nations General Assembly and Special Sessions from 1987 to 2007. His dutifulness and patriotism led President Sirleaf to transfer him in 2008, as Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Liberian Embassy in Washington, DC. Following an outstanding career in the Liberian Foreign Service, Her Excellency President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, commission him on September 06, 2013, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Liberia to the Kingdom of Morocco. He has integrity and is one of Liberia’s finest diplomats and assets in the Liberian Foreign Service.
