Workshops for Community Organizations that engages and activates members to outreach to seniors for disaster preparation.

As the AGEnts Coordinator I attend local Organizational and Government Meetings that address the needs of the Senior Citizens in Santa Clara county. The cordinator writes monthly and bi-annually midyear grant reports. The coordinator designs and tracks data for the program to determine efficacy of the program. The AGEnts Coordinator also collaborates with Meals On Wheels, The SPA Coordinator, Senior Community Center Staff, Faith Communities, Housing Organizations, Service Organizations and Agencies. The AGEnt’s Coordinator works with all of these organizations to engage more volunteers and to schedule and offer specific training AGEnts have requested information on. The AGEnts Coordinator also attends local County Outreach Events to engage more volunteers for Senior Citizen Outreach and to collaborate with other groups and organizations that serve this particular community. Additionally, the AGEnts have an active Facebook group and Meetup Group. The Coordinator is on many newsletters and email lists that address the needs of our community and community seniors in particular. The Coordinator forwards pertinent information on to the AGEnts as well as posts this information and articles on the AGEnts facebook page. The AGEnts Coordinator is active on VolunteerMatch; recruiting senior volunteers to engage in meaningful work that is vital for the well being of the County’s Senior Citizens. The AGEnts Coordinator has plans to reach out to local schools in the area for volunteer opportunities. The AGEnts Coordinator knows the importance of Gen 2 Gen Volunteer Engagement. Gen 2 Gen Collaboration brings to ‘real’ life for everyone involved, the concerns that are a part of many of our Senior Citizens daily lives. Gen 2 Gen promotes a healthy Age Friendly Community for everyone. All of these venues promote a vital and engaged sense of community for the AGEnts.

The Coordinator offered classes on Nature Journaling, Environmental Curriculum Development and Internships to local schools in the area.
