The mission of Latinx Student Services and Outreach (LASSO) is to offer holistic programming and services that support the Latinx student success through educational, cultural, social, and career services that contribute to their recruitment, retention, empowerment, and graduation.  https://success.students.gsu.edu/latinx-outreach/• Develop, implement, administer, and scale the strategic, programmatic, and operational elements of LASSO to consistently enhance the student success of GSU's Latinx students.• Design strengths-based and cultural wealth programs that allow Latinx students to effectively navigate the college experience.• Expand institutional pathways for assessing, understanding, and improving the university experience of Latinx students.• Establish community outreach programs to enhance the recruitment and retention of Latinx students in higher education and to serve as a resource to Latinx communities at the local, state, and regional levels. • Prepare Latinx students for their professional transition and create access to opportunities after graduation. • Hire, train, and lead a team of forty-five staff, graduate and undergraduate assistants, and student leaders across Georgia State University's five campuses. • Manage a multi-million-dollar scholarship and programming budget.

Reduce Latinx students' barriers to completion by connecting students with university resources, offering encouragement, helping problem solve, and by providing individualized assistance with academic, personal, social, and/or financial concerns.Alongside academic and student affairs departments, identify and address gaps in student support services, particularly as they relate to the progression and success of Latinx students. Oversee leadership development, mentoring, community service, and workforce opportunities for Goizueta scholars and other Latinx students.Support the effective implementation and administration of the Goizueta Foundation Scholarship program. Support the educational and social well-being of the 21 scholars by addressing concerns that impact their academic performance. Design, plan, and execute content for student success and leadership workshops, connect students with campus and community resources, recruit guest speakers, manage staff and faculty mentorship program, organize community service projects, and conduct program assessment.Provide fiscal and budgetary accountability of Goizueta scholarship fund. Manage scholarship application and admission process. Track and report retention efforts of scholars. Promote and market the scholarship program on and off campus.Lead and serve on the Latinx Advisory Committee. Serve on the Student Success Advocate Committee.Advise the Latino Student Association and other multicultural student organizations. Provide the campus community with opportunities to learn about and discuss social issues that focus on diversity, social justice, and inclusion through university-wide multicultural programming.Co-responsible for hiring, training, and supervising student employees, interns, and volunteers. Content manager for the department’s social media accounts and webpage.Cultivate relationships and build partnerships with community leaders in benefit of Latinx and underrepresented students.

Hispanic Mentoring Committee Vice-President. Investigate and voice the needs of the community, devise collaborative projects with other Hispanic/Latino-oriented nonprofits, coordinate and facilitate workshops, translate and interpret, connect the community with immigration, education, health, and various social services. Mentoring Toward College Support.Aid in the structuring and implementation of college-prep activities, workshops, and resources. Inform DACA and undocumented students of their rights and opportunities. Deliver scholarship and college application guidance and review. Inform students, parents, and volunteers on academic excellence, standardized testing, community service, and career exploration on the path to postsecondary education. Support and monitor +120 volunteers and families to ensure child safety, positive impacts for youth, and the achievement of program milestones.

Supervise and advise NGOs on community engagement, programmatic and financial sustainability, project cycle, donor stewardship, and Human Rights-based policy development. Notable projects include:• SOS Children's Villages Mexico: Co-designed the organization's national strategy on the promotion of the rights of unaccompanied migrant children traveling through Mexico to the United States. • Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana: Advanced the University’s environmental sustainability by securing funding and strategic alliances for its energy-saving and energy-generating projects. • Ayuda y Solidaridad con las Niñas de la Calle, I.A.P.: Co-constructed extracurricular and career development activities to reduce the traumatic effects of homelessness for 61 adolescent girls. • Fundación Origen, A.C.: Supported the NGO´s fundraising and community outreach strategies through the translation and cultural adaptation of key information. • Organización ORT de México, I.A.P.: Co-constructed the evaluation methodology of the NGO’s academic program. • PIADI, A.C.: Aid in the design of community-based alternatives to institutionalization for people with psychosocial and/or intellectual disabilities.

DEVELOPMENT•Manage a 6-figure portfolio of donors and lead the submission process for ~30 annual requests for general operating and program-specific funds. Achieving annual fundraising goal of $300K.•Identify, research, and cultivate potential donors and partners. •Oversee the reporting process for unrestricted and restricted grants.•Administer grant calendar and database, project budgets, donor records, and financial reports. •Coordinate and organize volunteer opportunities for corporate and community partners. MARKETING & COMMUNICATION•Develop and lead communication with donors. •Conduct research to support the NGO’s information needs. •Help implement community outreach campaigns for cancer education – assist with placement & supervision of volunteers, organize events, and manage stakeholder relations. •Liaise with the Communications Dept. to develop & maintain web content, promotional materials, fact sheets, presentations, and social media posts. •Procure 7 new cooperation opportunities in an 11-month period, including an invitation to participate in the 2015 Summit of the Americas. PROJECT MANAGEMENT •Co-manage numerous grant-funded initiatives, including the Early Detection Telemedicine Program to ensure the implementation and operation of the medical software necessary for the early detection of childhood cancer. Budget of $200K.•Oversee the strategic operations of project activities (budget, personnel, risk mitigation, compliance, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting).•Develop and distribute information to stakeholders to increase project awareness. •Gather, monitor, and analyze data to assess progress toward program objectives. EVENT MANAGEMENT•Design, plan, and implement special events, such as the Medical Symposium: Potential Solutions for Childhood Cancer.•Plan and organize donor site visits, awareness campaigns, and workshops.

NONPROFIT CONSULTING AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT•Collaborate with over 60 NGO clients to design and execute mission-centric, feasible, and measurable initiatives (focus areas included fundraising, grant writing and management, program growth, project management, strategic partnerships, and transparency best practices). •Design and produce Entrepreneurial Nonprofit Catalog. The Catalog showcased 22 entrepreneurial NGOs and offered over 200 socially responsible products. •Negotiate and establish 6 retail spaces for the sale and promotion of socially responsible products and services. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY •Engage companies through customized employee-volunteer projects, cause-marketing campaigns, and entrepreneurial investment opportunities to advance their Corporate Social Responsibility objectives. •Organize monthly donor-grantee outreach sessions.PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT •Lobby and work alongside authorities for the resolution of issues affecting NGOs, including discrimination of vulnerable groups, budget constraints, and public-nonprofit partnerships. •Attain pro-bono media spaces in benefit of constituent NGOs, including two publications in Riga-based magazine Mehiko Maja and three in newspaper Somos Hermanos. •Channel from private/public to third sector over $45,000 USD worth of in-kind donations in 1-year period.EVENT ORGANIZATION•Co-design, plan and produce the national summit on NGO management and institutional development: Cumbre Iberoamericana de Desarrollo Institucional para OSC. Annual Budget of $300,000 USD. •During the two years in which I participated, over 800 participants attended the summit, including more than 350 civil society organizations, over 50 corporations, and 20 government representatives.

•Identify the corporate responsibility issues, risks, and opportunities for Group companies (Ted Baker footwear, Speedo, Mitre, Hunter).•Aid in the drafting of Group’s Energy and Environmental policy as well as 2012 UN Global Compact Report.•Research Group companies’ operations, consumer base, competitors, and peers.

• Conduct routine visits and calls to constituents to assist with coordination of services. • Assist with applications and referral forms required for accessing government services.• Produce qualitative and quantitative reports on casework activity. • Attend Member of Parliament community events to survey problems within the community.
