Welcomed patrons and performed reference interviews for questions received by email, chat, or text. Provided relevant and authoritative sources and asked follow up questions. Offered additional help and referred questions as necessary. In 2013, I was awarded the Notable Transcript Award for high quality digital reference work by the Answerland Quality Team. Nature GuideNearby Nature Apr 2006 - Oct 2011Eugene, Oregon AreaI led nature walks for elementary school students on field trips in beautiful Alton Baker Park, located in the center of Eugene, Oregon. I taught students about basic science concepts and I encouraged their observation of the natural world. On the nature walks that I led, we played nature games and I told stories and legends related to ecology. I ensured that students were open to learning about nature nearby in a fun, safe, and hands-on way. I highly valued the opportunity to serve in a role in which I could help the next generation of stewards of the earth to start to examine the processes of nature and the big picture.
