UWI Consulting Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The University of the West Indies (UWI), is registered in Jamaica and Saint Lucia and has a satellite office in Barbados. Our mission is to contribute to the unlocking of the development potential of the people and institutions of the Caribbean by providing professional advice and capacity building services. UWI Consulting was created in 2007 as an initiative of the Vice Chancellor of the UWI, Professor E. Nigel Harris. Develop the strategic direction of and and manage an organisation which focuses on export development, export promotion, capacity building, training and education, business development, trade negotiations, policy development, lobbying and advocacy, new sector development, non-traditional sector identification and development, competitiveness support for the services sector. My role is also to ensure that all the above creates business development, supports entrepreneurship, generates employment and job creation and promotes export oriented industries.

Served as technical adviser to the Government/Ministry of Trade on all Trade in Services issues, including negotiations with Europe, the EAC and continental Africa. This role also provided capacity building support to private sector umbrella bodies. In this capacity I also served as a negotiator for trade facilitation at the World Trade Organisation (WTO)

During the ten years in the foreign service I covered, the United Nations, the Organisation of American States (Washington DC), bilateral relations with Central America and was the Chair of the CEPCIDI. I also covered regional integration in the CARICOM, relations with Africa and a range of international development and international relations issues on the multilateral agenda.
