A dedicated mentor, Lidia focuses on fostering the growth of women in corporate America, the nonprofit sector, and emerging talents. Lidia has built her career around forging partnerships that strengthen communities, create opportunities, and elevate underrepresented voices. During her 30 years at Southwest Airlines as Manager of Community Outreach, she established lasting relationships with civic, business, and educational organizations, leaving a meaningful impact on communities across the nation. Lidia’s contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including the San Diego Business Journal's 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2021 San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Herb Klein Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2021 Latino Leaders Network Inaugural Champion Award, and an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from San Diego State University in 2022. She remains dedicated to community advancement, serving on the boards of The Campanile Foundation at SDSU, The San Diego Airport Authority, For All of Us, and Latino Leaders Network. Currently, Lidia serves as a special advisor to the executive leadership at Promises2Kids, MAAC, and Lifeline Community Services. Originally from Ciudad Juarez (MX) and raised in El Paso, Lidia now lives in San Diego with her husband Ted. They have two adult children, Melyna and Teddy, and enjoy spending time with their grand-pups, Marley and Rho.
