As the Materials Library Manager, I organize, research, and manage material types, manufacturers, colors, and textures. I communicate with manufacturers about retrieving new materials and filter out discontinued materials from the library. To encourage student engagement with the space, I create mood boards and displays for inspiration, as well as illustrate maps and signage for easy navigation.

As a youth program leader my tasks involved supervising, feeding, and leading educational activities for children (ages 5-15) while their mothers were away. Due to many of the children being refugees or immigrants, and not speaking English as their first language, I was challenged with finding creative ways to communicate so that we could all enjoy the activities. At the end of the program, I reported how the children grew over the weeks. This experience offered me a new insight into what type of people live in Syracuse, New York and allowed me to build connections with people outside of the campus community.

As a I crew member I stocked product in each section, worked the register, and maintained a positive and friendly store environment for the customers and crew. In addition to the crew member tasks, I illustrated sign art for the seasonal displays, new product launches, and shelf products throughout the store. I focused on making my sign art communicative, punny, and enthusiastic to emphasize the Trader Joe’s brand.
