In 2011 opende ik koffiehuis Kornél. De co-working was onderdeel van het koffiehuis en werd ingericht als informele werkruimte. Mensen ontmoetten elkaar en er onstonden nieuwe samenwerkingen. Klanten konden er terecht voor koffie, thee en origine chocolade. Regelmatig organiseerde ik activiteiten in Kornél: proeverijen, screening van documentaires, lezingen, ... . Dit deed ik vaak in samenwerking met andere organisaties. Klanten konden zo de herkomst ontdekken van de tropische producten die ik verkocht. Door deze evenementen te organiseren, gingen we in gesprek over eerlijke handel, duurzame landbouw en transport. Huis Haas (www.huishaas.be), een collectief van illustratoren en kunstenaars, organiseerde om de paar maanden een tentoonstelling bij Kornél. Eind 2015 verkocht ik Kornél, sindsdien is het een CV. De eigenaars zetten de meeste activiteiten voort en er zijn nieuwe initiatieven gestart.De sfeer en activiteiten bij Kornél:____I founded Kornél as a coffeehouse, co-working space and gallery. The co-working area was part of the coffeehouse, it was decorated and used as an informal working space. People met and new collaborations were born. Customers could find fine flavor coffee, tea and chocolate at the counter. On a regular basis I organized activities at Kornél: tastings, screenings, readings, ... (very often in collaboration with other organizations). Costumers were able to discover the origin of the tropical products I sold. By organizing these events, we raised awareness and started conversation about fair trade, sustainable agriculture and transport. Huis Haas (www.huishaas.be), a collective of (inter)national illustrators and artists, organized exhibition at Kornél every few months. I sold Kornél at the end of 2015, it's been a co-operative company since. The owners continue most activities and started new initiatives.A glimpse at the ambiance and activities at Kornél:
