Lieven has significant experience in (corporate) real estate law, construction law and the regulatory and contractual aspects of construction projects. His experience has often been applied to transactions concerning all types of real estate. His real estate practice (advisory, transactional - both asset and shares- and litigation) includes the structuring of real estate projects (offices, retail, industrial and residential), sale-and-leaseback transactions, joint ventures, split structures, mergers and acquisitions and (financial and/or VAT) leasing.Lieven is Member and Assessor of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). He is a Guberna Certified Director ("Instituut voor Bestuurders/Institut des Administrateurs"). Lieven is also a member of the Legal Committee of the Belgium-Luxembourg Council for Retail and Shopping Centres (BLSC), as well as of the European Council for Shopping Places (ECSP). He is also a member of the Professional Association of the Real Estate Sector (BVS – UPSI); the Urban Land Institute (ULI); the Belgian Association for Construction Law (BVBR – ABDC); and officer at the International Bar Association (IBA).
