Safare was the first South African restaurant and cultural centre in Hsinchu, Taiwan. We served African-European fusion cuisine and introduced African art and culture to the broader Taiwanese population.- Renovated a traditional Japanese soldiers’ barracks from the 19th-century occupation for the restaurant venue.- Designed the interior with personally created installations, artworks and imported pieces from Africa.- Trained, managed and hired staff for full-time operation.- Created and implemented systems for bookkeeping, health andsafety, and shift schedules.- Promoted the restaurant on various media platforms, including co-hosting a cooking show episode on Discovery Channel Asia.
