Having served for a decade with the Parachute Regiment, Alistair specialised in working in risk mitigation in remote overseas areas before returning to the UK and founding the Lifesigns Group of companies. As a qualified Mountain Leader, Alistair has led over 40 international expeditions, holds numerous NEBOSH and CIEH safety qualifications, is an instructor in Off-Site Safety Management and is a qualified Trauma Medic and instructor in Advanced Life Support for groups working overseas. Alistair has previously advised the Rough Guide, BBC and ITN on overseas safety and is a member of the Emergency Planning Society. He regularly advises travel organisations on strategy and safety. Alistair is a Member of the Chartered Institute for Environmental Health, Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Insitute of Travel & Tourism and a fellow of the Linnean Society. He is the previous Chair of the Expedition Providers Association, a Hampshire Ambassador and has guest lectured at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
