HCA StaRN residency program July 2021. Completed preceptorship on the Orthopedic/Surgery/Trauma (OST) unit on October 10, 2021. Employed at Level II trauma center, HCA Conroe, 504 Medical Center Blvd. Conroe, Texas, 77304, July 2021-March 2022. Duties and Hard Skills: Independently caring for 6 patients per shift with high acuity, often total care. Proficient in head-to-toe assessments, wound care, dressing changes, ostomy care, placement and management of nasogastric tubes, IV placement/venipuncture and management, lab draws, PEG tube meds, tracheostomy care, telemetry, total parenteral nutrition and lipids, placement and care of foley catheters, pure wick catheters, oxygen therapy, diabetic foot care, insulin administration, medication administration, IV fluid therapy and hydration control, bladder irrigation, straight catheters, suture/staple care and removal, incision care, infection control and prevention, altered mental status patients. Adept with Pyxis medication distribution systems, Meditech charting EHR, care plan development and implementation. Team approach to interdisciplinary collaboration.
