Thiess is the world's largest mining services provider.In this role I work within a diverse team to manage all aspects of health, safety, environment and training for the Thiess contract at Coronado's Curragh coal mine. We are required to ensure our company is complying with the site safety and health management system. This is achieved through significant engagement with all levels of the workforce. I am responsible for the facilitation and development of standard safety management tools including job safety analysis', work method statements and formal risk assessments. I manage incident investigations using ICAM methodology and liaise with company and client stakeholders to deliver effective corrective actionsI am required to oversee the end-to-end injury management and return work process for injured workers focussing on positive outcomes that ensures a return to pre-injury duties. Notable projects I have been involved in:o Introduction of focussed training sessions with supervisors and leading hands to improve the base knowledge on safety and health topics including hazard identification, incident response and investigation.o Development and implementation of a traffic flow control plan including introduction of pedestrian barricades to ensure separation of person and vehicle movement in high-traffic areas within the workshop and administration precinct.

Master Builders Queensland is the leading industry association for the building industry in Queensland. In this role I was the primary point of contact for key stakeholders including Government bodies, building unions and other industry organisations in the development of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and industry campaigns, and for all member queries related to HSE. I was required to assist with the implementation of construction sector policies by developing research reports for senior management. Notable projects include:o Scaffolding Code of Practice review;o Model WHS Legislation review;o Introduction of industrial manslaughter to QLD WHS legislation.I developed briefs and reports for senior management on key health and safety issues including silica dust exposure, working at height and legislation reviews.I led the spotlight project to identify level of safety management maturity within the residential construction industry - delivered on behalf of Lendlease Communities.
