Linda Guy began her horticulture career in Mobile, Al where she managed Magnolia Nursery; a small nursery built around a 330 private estate, with an extensive plant assortment. It was there that she developed her love for the native flora of the Deep South, and familiarized herself with the many rare plants that covered Magnolia’s 40 acre collection garden. In 1997 she moved to Charleston, S. C. where she married her husband J. and worked as the Director of New Product Development for Carolina Nurseries. In 2003, she and her husband formed Novalis; a consortium of growers, which marketed new plants to independent garden centers under the Plants that Work® umbrella.As the managing director, Linda split her time between plant expeditions to China, Argentina and New Zealand as well as developing relationships with breeders in the US and Holland - testing and trialing new plant material from around the world. Today, she’s certain that all of these steps lead her to Plants Nouveau, a new plant introduction company that she and her business partner, Angela Palmer co-own. Some of Linda’s responsibilities include the administration of licensing agreements and the procurement of patent applications. Her relationships with breeders all over the world, coupled with a good eye for new products keep her in the forefront of the horticulture industry.Ever immersed in the plant world, Linda is widely respected for her botanical expertise and her enthusiasm for gardeners everywhere.
