- Lihua Chen received his Ph.D. degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI USA. - Currently work as an Engineering Director, leading the engineering team within a global organization. Key roles involve technology development, strategic planning, team management, and ensuring the successful execution of projects. Key responsibilities include designing and developing advanced technologies for traction drive systems and inverters, solving complex system-level challenges to foster innovation, and expediting the development of reliable, cost-effective solutions for hybrid and electric vehicles tailored to global OEMs and customers.- From 01/2008 to 04/2023, worked at Ford Motor Company as a Technical Expert, leading the Power Electronics Technology team within Ford Electrified Systems Engineering. Ky role involved investigating advanced technologies and developing solutions for next-generation eDrive systems and traction inverter product design.- He has technically led multi-generation traction inverter design and development for Ford electrified vehicles including Ford Mach-E/ F-150 Lightning EVs, Explorer/Escape/Fusion/Lincoln HEVs and PHEVs. - He has published over 100 technical papers and holds more than 75 US patents. - He has given numerous technical presentations and tutorials to IEEE conferences, research institutes, and various companies. - Since 2018, he has also been teaching Power Electronics and Electric Machines and Drives courses at University of Michigan-Dearborn.
