The project involves amending the current Waste Act (646/2022) into the Circular Economy Act, taking into account, among other things, the implementation of new EU regulations. At the same time, an assessment will be made to determine whether certain parts of the current Waste Act should be separated into distinct laws. I serve as a representative of the Producer Responsibility Organisations' Advisory Board (TYNK) in the working group.

Based on an EU Directive the Finnish waste law was changed in 2008 to include batteries among products where producers are responsible for organizing and financing the recycling of these products. Established in 2008 by battery and accumulator producers, Recser Oy is a non-profit organisation whose duty is to take care of the separate collection, pre-processing and recycling of batteries and accumulators, as well as the promotion of recycling, in Finland.

The Alliance of Finnish Raw Material Recycling acts as a round table for the members in order to enable mutual interaction and exchange of professional knowledge. Main activities annually are to organize seminars and expert lecturing for the members and organizing a study tour for its’ member representatives who are usually member organization’s executive directors or management groups members.

The goal of this waste industry cooperation group is to monitor and analyze the future of waste management, promote the circular economy, guide the national planning of waste management, promote the development and implementation of waste industry legislation, and promote the exchange of information and opinions regarding the waste industry and its current domestic and international development projects between the Ministry of the Environment and its key players. I am in the group as a representative of the Delegation of Finnish Producer Organisations (TYNK).

Delegation of Finnish Producer Organisations represents the producer organisations operating in Finland that have joined as members. The most important tasks of the delegation and its working committee are:-Joint lobbying activities-Legislative and operational issues related to the activities of producers-Joint information and training projects related to the sector

Association promotes the acquisition, processing and use of recycled materials in an economically and environmentally sustainable way. The members of the association are various companies and associations operating in the field, which develop mutual interaction and professional vision.
