• I manage USD 1.50 billion worth Fixed Income and structured product assets across 50 Institutions from 40 clients including retiral, pension and treasury funds.• Designing strategies to maximize returns on individual sub asset classes across Fixed Income including coupon bearing bonds, issued by Sovereign, Private and Trusts, Credit Enhanced Instruments, Structured products such as market linked debentures etc.• Investment strategies are designed based on an outlook arrived from in-depth understanding of intermarket relationships with Macroeconomics (inflation, interest rate, crude, currency, GDP, Trade deficit etc.) and geo-politics. These are studied for the US, Japan, Chinese and Indian markets.• Based on the above outlook the below Fixed Income strategies are chosen:o Duration strategies based on the shape of the yield curve including Barbell, Bond-laddering, Immunization, Active etc.o Spread based strategies include study of historical spreads across sub asset classes among various tenors.o Credit strategies where mispriced opportunities are identified by studying credit strength (Business, Management, Financial, Project, External Support, Corporate governance) and drawing rating transition matrix with probability of default.• Structured Products Include:o Market linked debentures including Equity linked debentures with partial and full capital protection based on the risk appetite of investors.o AIF’s and InVITs are also analyzed in detail and invested based on the specific requirement of the investor.• Periodically assessing the risk tolerance of the individual clients and reshuffling the portfolio based on the specific funds purpose.• Other key tasks include engaging with Senior management, Trustees and occasionally with board members of companies to establish strategic goals for the fund and charting roadmaps to ensure these strategic goals are met.• I also handle a team of 5 members, which include Macro-economic and Fixed income Analysts.
