Designed specifically to serve marginalized students, Quill.org empowers all students to build their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.In this role, I served Quill.org during a time of tremendous scaling and change. Wearing many hats, I oversaw finance and people operations for an annual budget of $6M and a team of 30 engineers, product developers, curriculum developers, instructional coaches, and business developers. I also served as a strategic partner to the Executive Director, stewarding the board as well as business and philanthropic partnerships at the six- and seven- figure level, including strategy, reporting, and proposal development.Designed and implemented the organization's inaugural career leveling and compensation system, aligning employee roles and responsibilities with market standards and performance benchmarks. The Future Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth to discover their passion, unlock their potential, and create positive change in their schools and communities through innovative mentoring and coaching programs. In this role, I designed and implemented a robust partnerships management infrastructure, establishing the organization's inaugural development team to manage $14M in partnerships across 45+ sites in 11 cities. Secured $1M+ partnership with the Coach Foundation and oversaw the design and execution of a 650-person event launching our partnership with the Coach Foundation and corporate brand.Developed team practices, norms, and process flows, including team mission, vision, and roles via customer journey mapping.Served as interim Chief Development Officer and Executive Council member.

The NYC Department of Education is the largest public school system in the United States, with a mission to provide high-quality education and equitable opportunities for all students.In this dynamic role, I oversaw the Division of Teaching and Learning's cumulative budget of over $350M, ensuring the design and delivery of high-quality, cost-effective programming to 1.1 million students across 1,800 schools. Directed the division's grants management infrastructure in partnership with The Fund for Public Schools, distributing over $15M in foundation and corporate investments. Defined grants management best practices and led analysis of programmatic sustainability and investment. Through good strategy, planning, and advocacy, successfully renewed $7M in NYSED funding for after-school programming that had been slated for cancellation in FY18. Led and redesigned the annual budgeting process, templates, and tools. Designed inter-office employee engagement opportunities across 450+ staff to advance collaborative partnerships, expand knowledge, and deepen collective commitment to education. Created tool-kits, process maps and procedures, and led staff training in MS Excel, continuous improvement, and data visualization for 60+ team members. GuideStar and Foundation Center merged in February 2019 to form Candid.org, a unified organization that combines their respective strengths in providing valuable data, resources, and transparency tools to the nonprofit sector.In this role, I served as a leader for the team raising $5-7M+ in institutional grants each year with 500+ partnerships across five regional offices in NYC, San Francisco, Atlanta, D.C., and Cleveland.
