As a volunteer Crisis Text Counselor, I completed training that made me capable of assisting those dealing with a mental health crisis through the medium of text. The main responsibilities of this role involving active listening, risk assessment, communication with texters until they’ve reached a calmed state, mandatory reporting, and finally just being an ear for those who need it.

As a volunteer for Pick Of The Litter, operated by Friends of the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, I assist with various tasks as requested by the store manager. Common tasks include: cashiering, stocking the sales floor, cleaning and pricing donated merchandise, and assisting customers and pets in the store.

As a returning RA, I have successfully handled my responsibilities, including: the supervision of the well-being of my assigned 50+ residents, enforcement of housing policy, planning and facilitation of social events, and emergency response. Additionally, this job requires extensive communication abilities—including facilitating conflict mediation meetings, sending emails, making flyers, and responding to work calls.

I served as an editorial board member for UC Merced’s creative arts journal. I’ve held various roles such as the Events Coordinator—which involved purchasing, fundraising, and scheduling outreach events. As the journal’s treasurer, I handled the financial aspect of our journal—which included making purchase requests and completing paperwork for fundraising approval. As an editor, I voted on, reviewed, and edited submissions to our journal. Lastly, I met with authors to discuss revisions to their accepted work.
