I have experienced several different areas of the hospital setting including:-Experiencing the administration of electroconvulsive therapy to patients -Expanding therapeutic communication skills by talking to patients regarding illness, stressors, and treatment-Shadowing Psychiatric Nurses during the administration of medication to patients with a history of noncompliance -Presented a teaching project to patients regarding the importance of hygiene & the benefits of proper hygiene for mood-Assisting nurses with the treatment of patients with various mental health illnesses included mood, thought, and behavior disorders

During my time at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, I have completed clinical hours for maternity nursing and pediatric nursing. I have experienced several different areas of the hospital setting including:-Managing high risk pregnancies in order to ensure a smooth labor and delivery process-Assisting with the care plan of acutely ill and premature infants in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit-Shadowing Neonatal Intensive Care nurses on a regular basis in order to gain more exposure to the unit-Completing care interventions for mothers and newborn infants in the Postpartum Unit and Newborn Nursery-Experiencing the administration of chemotherapy for pediatric patients-Assessing newborn infants and assisting in initiating breastfeeding between mother and infant
