As a kid, what I wanted to do with my life changed every year. I wanted to be a doctor, lawyer, politician, wedding dress designer, zoo keeper, nail artist and probably a few others I have chosen not to remember. My dream careers changed because I love to learn. I love trying things. I love trying to figure things out. I love learning the intricate little details that make the world go round. Most of all I love helping people and getting to know them and the complexities of their lives.You might be wondering why I picked accounting in the end? It wasn't even on the list. Well, on orientation day at Thompson Rivers University, a professor asked all of us first years if we were going to take accounting. I was one of the students who laughed saying no. He laughed and said, "yeah, you all have to take accounting because it's required for BBA". I ended up in Peggy McKimmon's accounting class and discovered that accounting tests and challenges my love of learning, as it is constantly changing. There's always something new to learn, little details to pick out, and most importantly there's always a person behind the paperwork who needs help. And so my love of learning translated into a love of accounting.My love of learning doesn't stop with my professional life. I drive my friends and family crazy with all the hobbies I take on. Some of those hobbies include making balloon animals, photography, nail art, cooking, baking, gardening, story writing, crochet, sewing, puzzles, board games, card games, video games and many more things! People have told me that all of my hobbies might make people worry that I'm pushing myself too hard and spread myself too thin. My response to that is that I'm always happiest when I'm learning something so although it seems like a lot, it makes me happy.I hope that my summary gave you some insight to who I am as a person and I hope to get to know you too, and I hope you have a great day!Cheers!Lila Ross
