As one of the two lead coordinators for the GT Sports Dodgeball centre, a British dodgeball affiliated club, I have a variety of exciting responsibilities such as managing communication with members over email/WhatsApp/ social media sites, designing and distributing letters/flyers, working at British dodgeball fixtures, marketing on social media and organising tournaments/ events/ fundraisers. I am very appreciative to have been given this opportunity to gain hands on experience in the sports events industry and experience of the event process from initial planning to delivery to gaining feedback.

I am a self employed dog walker and dog sitter, and love providing weekly walks for my fury friends! With this being a self employed role, I have gained experience using important business skills, for example, I advertise my services, set competitive prices for my services, offer discounts and incentives, and communicate with all of my customers in a friendly but professional way. Most of all this role has taught me the importance of customer service, I aim to build a relationship and trust with my customers which has led to me being their first point of call when they need their dog walking or looked after while they are away.

As a sports coach for SportsCool Bradford, I worked across schools in the Bradford and Halifax area, running breakfast clubs, lunch time cubs, afterschool clubs, p.e lessons, as well as holiday camps and events such as taster days and sports days. I gained experience delivering a large range of sports to primary school aged children, including archery, dodgeball, athletics, yoga, fencing and many more, you name it! This role helped me develop skills such as leadership, discipline, confidence, organisational skills and planning. Working for SportsCool also gave me my first insight into the sports events industry. My favourite event that we delivered was themed holiday camp days such as Disney days and Harry Potter days, where the children and coaches dressed up for a day full of themed activities including quidditch!

At the fleece, Addingham, I worked as a waitress, however helped in a variety of different roles such as bartending, hosting, food running, desert prep and accommodating guests hosting functions, receptions and events at the restaurant. In the function room, a large range of events were often hosted such as funeral recpetions, wedding receptions, birthdays, christening parties and much more. I was part of the catering team for most of these events and also occasionally helped in the preparation and setting up of the event. This role provided me with experience into the hospitality side of the events industry.
