I work as a Research Assistant at the Salk Institute focusing on stem cell therapies and preclinical treatment for metabolic diseases. As a technician in a gene expression laboratory, I am experienced in molecular protocols such as ELISA, western blotting, qPCR, and DNA/RNA isolations. I am well-versed in cell culturing and maintenance, flow cytometry, microscopy, and immunohistochemistry.I studied Microbiology at the University of Washington, researching environmental microbial communities in soil and plants at the Winkler Lab and the Doty Lab in Seattle. At the University of Washington Friday Harbor Labs, I received a fellowship to research key transmitters in basal-branching metazoan nervous systems. My time in academic institutions has allowed me to collaborate with multiple researchers on their projects. I excel in documentation, communication, and organization of time and tasks. I am always excited to learn novel techniques or venture into new projects. I aspire to continually grow and learn across all fields of research to expand my knowledge and abilities as a scientist and person.
