Hi, my name is Lilli and I am from Mount Shasta, California. I recently graduated from CSU Monterey Bay with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with an emphasis in ecology, evolution and organismal biology and I am passionate about pursuing Ayurvedic Practitioning. I feel like Western Medicine comes up short in many aspects of health and as a result, I have chosen to pursue a more integrative approach to medicine, being Ayurveda. I believe that if we can heal ourselves as a species, that we can heal the planet. Yoga saved my life. The majority of my life, I experienced intermittent suicidality and masked it with a smile and kindness because I never wanted anyone to experience what I was going through. I never understood why at random, I would experience depression and anxiety and feel nothingness and non attachment to this world. I additionally went down a path of abusing alcohol and nicotine which continued to fuel my depression. Once I discovered that I have full control over the modifications of my mind (yoga), I started to feel more connected to myself, all of life, and the universe (and universes beyond this universe). I started to consistently feel healthier, more whole, and healed. I started to care more about myself and others and even explore the role of nutrition, which led me to exploring the tridosha system and absolutely fall in love with Ayurveda. Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, I have been self educating about Ayurveda and Yoga and am now fully pursuing my education through the Yoga Veda Institute. I now feel like it is my life's mission to help others like myself find the light in dark places through Yoga and Ayurveda.
