In this position I am responsible for designing and implementing rigorous curriculum for kindergarten through 6th grade.

In my current position I am responsible for creating and implementing curriculum for 3rd-12th grade visual art courses. My curriculum is designed to meet state and national standards with connections to english language arts and math standards. I was selected to serve as the Fine Arts Department Chair and as a member of the District Leadership Team. In these roles my responsibilities include demonstrating leadership and cultivating communication between administration and educators in the fine arts. As a Home Bound Instructor in the District my organization skills and instruction methods are utilized to provide in-home instruction to students with exceptional, temporary, medical needs. As the set designer for annual high school performances, I organize students workers, plan and implement a visual set for various productions.

I presented units addressing the New National Core Art Standards at the annual state conference. I analyzed the Presenting Anchor Standards across grade levels including third, fifth, ninth, tenth, and twelfth. I developed lessons to address specific standards and provided overviews of larger units encompassing the standards. I tested the lessons and units and provided insight to various student misunderstanding and successes.

My responsibilities include designing curriculum for Art 1, 2, 3, and 4 emphasizing skill building in drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, and digital media. I am responsible for designing lessons that connect to the National Core Art Standards and the Illinois Teaching Standards, as well as connecting to other content areas such as reading, writing, and history. I am also responsible for leading the Junior High Art Club.

My responsibilities included planning and implementing art lessons for kindergarten through 5th grade students. I was responsible for creating an environment designed for learning, managing classroom behavior, and presenting students' artwork.
