Lillian has been published for her memoir and, poetry, and prose poetry in several literary magazines. She is the now the author of Space Boy: A Story About A Boy Who Went To Outer Space And Back (2021), and The Lupus Diaries My Life With Chronic Illness (2023), both with Pegasus Publishers. Lillian attended the Jack Kerouac School for Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University in Colorado for an MFA degree in Creative Writing. She holds a BA from Ryerson in Psychology. Additionally, Lillian founded and worked as the Executive Director of Young Ones (Y.O) Charitable Organization in Toronto, Ontario. Y.O is dedicated to providing free mental health treatment to youth who are in financial need and who are experiencing mental health and/or addictions issues, as well as offering education and support services in local youth shelters (www.youngones.ca) and via a lecturing program in most Universities throughout Toronto. Young Ones provided help to many youth and saved many lives.Lillian has also worked with different youth and mental health organizations in the Nonprofit Sector in Toronto and Internationally, such as Toronto Community Foundation, Renascent, Second Base Youth Shelter, Schizophrenic.NYC, among others, as well as participating in philanthropy, community organizing, and activism for 7+ years.Currently, Lillian sits as a Director on the board of the William Birchall Foundation.www.lillianchinasmith.wordpress.com
