As an International Relations and Spanish student at the University of San Diego, I fine tuned my research, writing, and foreign language skills, which was recognized by the USD Department of Political Science and International Relations faculty with the Ernst N. Morin award for Academic Achievement in International Relations. My senior capstone project analyzed US-China relations through a Cold War Great Power lens, and highlighted discrepancies in diplomacy and trade relations. Throughout my studies, I was fortunate to live abroad twice. From May to August of 2021 I worked as an Au Pair in Alto-Adige/Südtirol, Italy, serving as a cultural and language aide. Through Anglo-American University, in Spring 2022 I spent a semester studying civil society, democracy, and international security in Prague, Czech Republic, while participating in excursions to the Czech Parliament, and interacting with NGOs dealing with an influx of Ukrainian refugees in the months following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
