Direct middle and high school students in an annual outdoor Shakespeare production; teach language comprehension, physical theater techniques, and acting; work with designers and technical theater students to sets, props, and costumes; develop original songs with music director and choreograph dance numbers; productions include The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth, and The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Zoom production).

Born, bred, and currently based in New York City, Lillian is primarily a self-producer. Most of her work is site-specific, and explores the boundaries of performance and the role of the audience in live theater. She has developed new plays with playwrights, directors, and devising ensembles for a variety of companies and venues, including Soho Rep, Dixon Place, Culture Project, Actors Theatre of Louisville, UglyRhino, Galapagos Art Space, Hunter College, The Secret Theater, Ashby Stage in Berkeley CA, and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center (NPC and NMTC). Aside from her own projects – which include her annual festival of plays written for and performed in community gardens – she is the co-founder and artistic director of The Motor Company, a co-founder and member of FullStop Collective, an associated artist of foolsFURY Theater Company, and a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab and the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab. She is an alumna of Vassar College and the National Theater Institute, and has trained with BADA, LAMDA, The Wooster Group, Old Vic/New Voices, Greg Allen, and Mary Overlie. Although she is not a writer, she does occasionally pen plays, poems, and essays.

Developed curriculum for Introduction to Acting class; taught basics of various acting techniques; worked with students on contemporary scenes and monologues; assigned and graded response papers and led discussions on performances attended by the class.

Published three issues of the alum magazine AlumNotes each year.
