Manage grant of $1.2 million for implementation of adolescent health policy development, assessment, and change. In this role, I build and sustain relationships and manage contracts with key national-level stakeholders; provide technical assistance and peer-to-peer collaboration support to multi-sectoral state government leadership teams on implementing action plans for organizational and systems-level change; and plan, design, develop, recruit for and facilitate professional development and capacity building convenings and workshops for governmental education and health agency cohorts. I assist in the development and facilitation of organization-wide health equity initiatives, including brown bag and affinity group discussions on white supremacy, racial microaggressions, and implicit bias. I review abstracts, support activities, day-to-day operations, and develop and facilitate conference sessions on adolescent health, increasing access to services for LGBTQ young people, and racial equity and social justice for NCSD’s Annual Meetings. I provide subject matter expertise, strategic direction, and research for funding opportunities to bolster the organization’s portfolio of work; and partner with a development consultant to identify new funding opportunities and coordinate proposals, programmatic strategy, and relationship building with potential funders.

Led a cooperative agreement of $700,000 over 2 years to strength partnerships across national organizations and state agencies. I provided intensive technical assistance, capacity building support, and facilitation of long-term action planning to state and local education and health agencies. In this role, I also developed, facilitated, and managed logistics for a 2-day regional training workshop to build the capacity and strengthen partnerships of education departments, health agencies, and community based organizations to improve adolescent health outcomes. I also participated in advocacy days during to educate federal lawmakers on the importance of health departments and STD prevention programs. Internally, I assisted in writing proposals, budgets, and evaluation plans to bring in more than $2 million in funding. I managed, provided mentorship, and served as a preceptor for NCSD’s Adolescent Sexual Health Intern.

Implemented CDC cooperative agreements to increase STD/HIV prevention in young people. Assisted with facilitation, planning, logistics, operations, activity development, reporting and follow-up support for training events. I developed and delivered conference presentations and webinars, and updated fact sheets and created resources highlighting best practices and recommendations for adolescent health. I also served as NCSD's representative on the HPV Vaccination Roundtable.

In this role, I served as NPWH's representative on women's health, sexual health, and health equity coalitions and partnerships. I provided support to grantees on creating and maintaining project plans, and developed reports and statements of work for grants. I coordinated and managed subject matter experts, and trained all on-site personnel and communicated with hotel staff for the organization's conferences. I conducted research and reviewed proposals of potential CMS and LMS vendors, and led the CMS and LMS revamp of NPWH website and learning portal. I also tracked women’s health and nursing policy issues, attended issue briefings on Capitol Hill, and represented the organization at high-level HHS meetings.
