Glossy Finish is a youth sports photography company founded by Haim Ariav and Matt Winer. They recently opened a location at Sports Force Parks in Sandusky and I jumped on the opportunity to work for the company. I began as a photographer, salesperson, and graphic designer and quickly climbed my way to management. As a photographer, you're given multiple tasks per day in which you take in-game action photos of players who are pre-registered for the event. Photographers also have to be aware of time management, reaction time, professionalism in and on the baseball fields, and the ability to be interpersonal with both current and possible clients. Our salespeople handle the majority of customer interactions, whether it's checking players in, answering questions, or providing parents with more information about the company and our mission. Salespeople also have daily tasks of setting up displays, going around the park to hand out QR cards linked to our website while talking with parents about the benefits of pre-registering, and ensuring the workspace is tidy and ready for studio sessions. Our graphic designers are the people who handle anything concerning customer orders, whether it's team photos, posters, or any other printable packages we provide. The graphic designers are trained to make orders specific to the company's standards and are held accountable if something with an order goes awry or needs improvement. Our graphics people are also in charge of maintaining a clean workspace, being organized, handling printer maintenance, and ensuring the graphics inventory is replenished properly. As a manager at Glossy Finish, you have daily tasks including scheduling employees/games, maintaining customer relations, sending out "text blasts" with the necessary information to parents who are coming to the event, administrative work, communicating and relaying information with higher-level people in the company, and supporting your team.
