African Services Committee is a non-profit serving migrants in New York City. As a member of their legal team, I managed numerous family and humanitarian-based immigration applications. Throughout my time there, I trained three new paralegals and optimized our filing system so that we could address more cases.

As a team lead, I facilitated weekly meetings and action items for the five-person “Education Initiative." My team analyzed current North Carolina high school history standards in terms of racial bias, proposed edits to current North Carolina history standards, and worked to organize a coalition of history teachers statewide who are willing to actively employ a more racially conscious curriculum.

I contacted swing-state voters to discuss the 2020 presidential race persuade them to vote for the Democratic candidate. I also participated in racial bias, political trauma, and grassroots political organizing trainings
