Conducting fermentation research using shake flasks and bioreactors to improve the yield of desirable biomass and bioactivities of various beneficial microbes, ex. bacteria and fungi. Performing sample collection and data collection, using data capture systems: JMP, Polaris, and LIMS, to understand process variation, process controls, and identify microbes with improved performance. Develop standard operating procedures and guidelines for a new project, to ensure fermentation runs are standardized across the lab and to guarantee successful data. Maintain a high standard of quality control when documenting up-to-date data records for all fermentation processes. Experience with fermentation equipment, such as the setup, running, and tear down of a bank of bioreactors.

Purification Group-Downstream purification of monoclonal antibodies through use of Chromatography, Viral Filtration and Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF).Comply with safety requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and documentation.Operate systems that clean (CIP) and sterilize (SIP) fixed tank/filtration systems and operate large scale column chromatography systems.Prepare solutions for the production processes.Review documentation and check all calculations.Assemble and prepare equipment for production. Provide support to all areas of Manufacturing to meet production demands.

Manufacturing and Cell Culture 2 (MaCCS2)Group-Participate in the start-up of Cell Culture Plant 2 for the Vacaville facility-debugging automated systems, production recipes and supporting validation. Perform cleaning, assembling and sterilization on 20L bioreactors and portable tanks for Manufacturing. Gathering, processing, and delivering labware, glassware, and assemblies while providing quality service to Manufacturing departments.

Prepared labware for researchers and scientist according to standard operating procedures. Operate process equipment which includes washers, dryers, and autoclaves.Follow aseptic techniques, adhere to SOPs, and comply with other established procedures.Maintained laboratory and inventory while serving as a liaison between customers and lab staff to ensure efficient and uninterrupted daily workflow. Trained new hires on support tasks, lab procedures, and inventory management.

Provided secretarial support by performing a variety of office procedures (filing, inventory, answering phone, etc.).Greet and receive patients, ascertain their needs and direct them to the appropriate radiology area. Answer routine questions regarding departmental policies, operations and procedures.Courteously answer the telephone and take accurate information and/or messages.Direct call to appropriate person/radiology area.Schedule and verify patient appointments, provide necessary forms to patient when appropriate and direct/escort patient to proper examination area or notify technologist of patient’s arrival.Assist File Clerk as needed during evening and weekend.
