When I was 26, I made a tough decision to pack my bags and move to the UK. Work and travel has always been something I wanted to do since I finished high school. I never had the chance due to the circumstances at the time. The year of 2018 changed my life! Not only did I rediscover my passion for events but also I found my husband, life partner, best friend and soul mate. Since graduation, I have worked and volunteered in different sectors of hospitality to see where I wanted to take my career to. I have experienced marketing, restaurant, community events, fundraisers, festival, and hotel. While working in voco Oxford Thames, I had the opportunity to see events from the planning stage with the clients to executing the event on the day. It triggered the passion I had within and craved for more. I love being able to plan the event with the client to see the the event come to life. Covid has changed the normality in my life and when I had the opportunity to be closer to my husband, I took it. I started as a Receptionist as part of the Old Amersham Hotel group which included the Kings Arms Hotel and the Crown Hotel. This has led to my role as Corporate and Event Coordinator with the Sales and Events team on site. I can now plan events for clients and see it all come to life. I adapt quickly to unexpected situations and ensuring quality is provided. The past few years, I have learned to take my experiences whether positive or negative and turn them into positives for my next challenge. I am eager to continue my career in events and continue to improve as an individual and as a planner.
