When I finished my degree in pre-med, I was just beginning my journey as a life-long learner. I would spend the next four years in Japan and the following five in various business administration roles before discovering a passion and natural ability for information security. I decided to pursue my certification in Cybersecurity Engineering, and I have not looked back. The constantly evolving world of IT and information security fascinates me, and I have equipped myself with the resources to meet the ever-changing technology demands. As a student of SecureSet/Flatiron School's Cybersecurity program, I gained over 800+ hours of direct hands-on experience and valuable knowledge in using various tools to minimize potential security and network risks. From using application security and network security tools to scan for and manage vulnerabilities to implementing plans, policies, and technical solutions to resolve and mitigate future risks, I am highly skilled at detecting security gaps and uncovering the root cause. In addition to my coursework, I further honed my technical proficiencies as a SOC Intern at Ideal Integrations/Blue Bastion. With my diverse professional and academic background, I took on the role of Security Operations Analyst at Open Technology Solutions, LLC here in Denver. I am an integral member of the Security Operations Center, working with clients within the financial sector, including banking and credit unions. I also manage technical projects, helping develop and refine security operations policies. Outside of my professional interests, I take full advantage of the Colorado landscape by snowboarding and dabbling in photography. When I'm not outside, I enjoy reading, knitting, and cooking up delicious food! I am excited to learn and grow within information technology and cybersecurity. Every day I meet new challenges head-on with no intention of stopping any time soon.
