Working on a project about Data-intensive Innovation and the State: Evidence from AI Firms in China

• Developed a literature review of 1,500 in English on Comparison for Citations and Compensation of economics professors and Policy Science professors, studied income distribution theory and special economics.• Participated in the field investigating and data gathering on 3,000 professors’ proposed salary and publication citation amount, performed statistical analysis using STATA, including Jarque-Bera test, Breusch-Pagan test, and multiple regression to test the study hypotheses.• Independently explained statistical results, and analyzed the relationship between proposed salary and publication citations.• Assistance with drafting, fact-checking, and proofreading papers.• Conducted, researched, and drafted memos and summaries on Income Inflation

Research project led by Prof. David S Bullock of University of Illinois, Urbana – Champaign, IL• Independently studied R as GIS for Economists, compiled more than 10,000 “Big” agronomic data in reports and other documents using R.• Collaborated with the senior research team to build 3 trail-design models to be implemented in 2022 for DIFM-South Africa using QGIS and R.• Assessed data using GPS-reliant precision agriculture technology to conduct large-scale agronomic field trails on famers’ own field while following all important specifications.

“Research on Effects of Chinese Retaliatory Tariffs on Chinese Economy”Undergraduate Student Researcher, supervised by Oleksiy Shvets• Engaged in brainstorming sessions with supervisor to generate new project ideas including using conventional supply and demand models to resolve China’s retaliatory tariff damage• Leveraged Python and Stata to input and compile data gathered from EPS China and ITC databases to analyze welfare losses and tariff revenue• Compiled and organized research data to produce reports on regression framework outlining the relationship between import values, quantity, and tariffs• Created graphs showing 12-month proportional changes in import prices generated by the tariffs

“Study on Effects of Students Being Instructed to Write Open-ended Questions on Course Topics” led by Prof. José Vazquez of University of Illinois, Urbana – Champaign, IL• Designed and implemented R to carry out statistical analyses on 4 students’ quizzes, 2 midterms, and final grades.• Conducted ANOVA regression in STATA to analyze students’ microeconomics course final grades as data samples, concluded that there was a noticeable increase in those students being instructed to write open-ended questions final grades.• Presented research results in Undergraduate Research Seminar at University of Illinois – Urbana – Champaign.

“Study on Impact of 2018 Trade War on U.S. Prices and Welfare: Case of the Washing Machine” Undergraduate Student Researcher, supervised by Prof. José Vazquez• Explored the case of washing machines using data collected from the International Trade Commission to analyze the influence of President Trump's economic policies on citizens’ welfare• Utilized Python and R to compile original data into 12-month relative changes’ data to avoidseasonality• Using the standard supply and demand model, evidence showed the tariffs on washingmachines fall directly onto American consumers. Concluded that the Trump administration policy raised the CPI for major appliances and the United States will necessarily lose economically because the trade gain is zero
