The Association of Cancer Care Centers (ACCC) is the leading education and advocacy organization for the cancer care community. ACCC is a community of cancer centers — representing members nationwide from all care delivery settings: comprehensive cancer programs, health systems, academic centers, community cancer programs, and private practices. Members gain access to an ongoing source of support and information to help navigate the accelerating course of change — programmatically, operationally, fiscally, and clinically.As Program Manager, my role is to lead and liaison for education projects & providing a broad range of support to the portfolio of education programs and the membership of ACCC. I serve as project lead to plan, implement, and assess multiple components for the projects according to the specifications, while adhering to project scope, timelines and budget.

The Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission of making kids better today and healthier tomorrow. We do this through the philanthropic support of individual donors, charitable foundations and corporations. As Sports Network/Special Events Intern, I assist in the planning and execution of all sports-related fundraising events, such as 5Ks, home run derbies, golf tournaments, and bike rides. My work includes contacting vendors, managing volunteers, managing participant data, day-of coordination, and gift processing.

The Institute for Nonprofit Organizations (INPO) provides an interdisciplinary group of graduate teaching, research, and service programs that focus upon improving the leadership and effectiveness of nonprofit organizations.As research assistant, I drafted a manuscript for a scholarly article which examined the relationship between workplace culture and financial performance in nonprofit organizations. This manuscript has been submitted for publication. I also drafted a manuscript for a scholarly article which critically examined innovation in philanthropic foundations. I created and published a 60 page handbook presented to the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) Regional Advisory Board to orient new board members with the vision, mission, goals, structure, history, and roles and responsibilities of the DFCS.

The Jackson EMC Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization set up to represent the members of Jackson EMC and award the funds collected through Operation Round Up® for charitable purposes. As Grant Review Intern, I analyzed and managed grant applications from nonprofit organizations and individuals in Northeast Georgia. I also prepared for and participated in monthly Board of Directors grant review meetings. Working together, the Foundation gave approximately $90k/month across NEGA.

Brookstone Golf & Country Club served over 600 Members, who enjoy an array of golf, social and recreational amenities and the personalized service and exclusive privileges that have earned Brookstone recognition among the finest private clubs in Cobb County. My role included coordination of all Member communications such as the monthly newsletter, mailings, emails, flyers, company website and Facebook page. I was also the administrative assistant of the Clubhouse, and managed Brookstone's Member files and online databases.

Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta is the local resource for women who need breast cancer screening, diagnostic and support services. As Development Intern, I lead in-kind gift processing in Salesforce; pulled a database report for all gifts, and used the report to complete thank you & tax letters for each donation. I also drafted a community profile report with language to be used in future grant proposals. The report contained key incentives, a mission action plan, program narratives, budget narratives, and metrics of success. I also assisted in the planning and production of Komen Atlanta’s second-largest donation event of the year. At the event, Komen Atlanta raised over $200,000.

The Carter Center is a nongovernmental organization helping to improve lives by resolving conflicts, advancing democracy, and preventing diseases.As The Carter Center's Health Development Intern, I assisted the fundraising team in managing grants, interacting with donors, drafting proposals, and producing reports. Additionally, I conducted potential donor research and participated in the long-term evaluation of grants. All of the donors I worked with support The Carter Center's Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) and Mental Health programs. I was one of about 50 college students and recent graduates chosen for this this internship and I was the only intern working with the Health Development team.
