Conducting research focused on the development of moderately preterm born children (born between 32 and 37 weeks of gestation).The STAP (Study on Attention of Preterm children)Project is a longitudinal study on the development of moderately preterm born children, following them from infancy through to school age. So far, there have been five waves in which the children and their parents participated.Aims of this study are 1) to examine the developmental outcome of moderately preterm born children at the start of school, 2) to study whether attention skills, measured with a novel tool, and developmental level in toddlerhood are predictive of long term developmental outcome, and 3) to investigate which mechanisms (e.g. parenting) underlie the subtle differences in the development of moderately preterm born children.
